Tas Melas to talk hoops on CLNS tomorrow night
September 5, 2010
“Meet in the trap, it’s going down. Meet me in the mall, it’s going down. Meet me in the club, it’s going down. Anywhere you meet me guaranteed it’s going down.” – Young Joc
If I can guarantee one thing that’s going to happen in the next 24 hours or so, it is this: It’s going to be going down tomorrow night at 9pm on The Celtics Late Night Show. After already confirming Tim Povtak from AOL FanHouse earlier this week, we just confirmed that the one and only Tas Melas from The Basketball Jones will also be joining us for what is sure to be a crazy edition of The Celtics Late Night Show.
As a host of the show, I can truly tell you this episode will qualify for the second or third most excited I’ve ever been to host a show. We’re bringing in the author of this past week’s most controversial Celtics article, as well as one of the most humorous and knowledgeable NBA personalities out there, all in one show! As the person responsible for scheduling guests, it’s safe to say my ego is pretty high right now.
If all goes as planned, Tim Povtak will join us around 9:15 to discuss his most recent article, in which he quoted the Celtics as being “scared to death” of the Miami Heat. We will kindly question Tim on his choice of words in the article, as well as get his take on everything going on in both Miami and Boston.
We also plan on making this show in particular more “NBA related” rather than “Celtics related”. Last week A. Sherrod Blakely helped us run through the list of questions surrounding the Celtics upcoming season, and this week we’ll be bringing in a non-biased source in Tas Melas to breakdown the upcoming NBA season. We’ll get his take on what’s going to go down in the Eastern Conference, what’s going to happen in Miami, and much more.
As always, we’ll also be taking your calls to discuss all the happenings in Celtics Nation and the NBA. Call us at 877-245-6136. You can also submit questions for either guests by sending them to our mailbag.
Brandon to guest on “A Little Bit Of This” tonight at 8:15

“A Little Bit of This”
Tonight
at
8:00 PM
It’s been a while since one of us on The Celtics Late Night Show/Gino’s Jungle have worked our way onto another sports talk show, but tonight I plan to take my talents to “A Little Bit of This”, a show hosted by our good friend AEM. The title of his show says it all, we’ll talk a little bit of this, and a little bit of that.
He has given me a small preview of what we will be talking about. That list includes Sheed, LeFraud, and for some odd reason the Lakers. All three of those topics I have not liked at one point or another, so it should be interesting. You can listen to the show by going to this page here.
Oh, by the way, if it sounds like Dick Vitale talking, then you’ve tuned into the right place. Enjoy!
CLNS is on vacation!
August 23, 2010
We at CLNS are sorry to inform that we will not be broadcasting live tonight at 9pm EST. Although we strive to work hard to bring you top notch Celtics entertainment, sometimes these brains, fingers, and voices need a little rest.
Nick is drinking wine somewhere in Cape May, New Jersey while I sit here typing this and working on scheduling some top notch guests for the month of September. Must be nice, huh Nick? Anyways, we will be back next Monday at 9pm with A.Sherrod Blakely from Comcast Sports Net. You can guarantee that we will be back and we will be better than ever, as long as Nick isn’t still hungover from vacation.
In the meantime be sure to check out all of our network sites for all your Celtics news and notes. Here’s a quick rundown if you happened to forget all 10,000 five of our network sites: Gino’s Jungle, North Station Sports, Celtics 24/7, NBA Primetime and Dodging Traffic.
We can’t wait to get back at it and hear from you next week! Be sure to check the CLNS site often for all the latest news regarding upcoming shows, guest appearances, and much more. At the same time, be sure to subscribe for text message updates regarding show information. We won’t spam you!
Shaughnessy to join CLNS next Monday
July 29, 2010
You have seen his face on ESPN shows like Jim Rome is Burning. You have read his work in the Boston Globe and ESPN Magazine. And now you’re going to hear his voice Monday night at 9pm on The Celtics Late Night Show.
As promised at the end of the season, we are working very hard at CLNS to bring you the best guests out there. Shaughnessy, who is looked upon as one of the top writers in the Boston area, will just add to the list of fantastic guest we have already had on the show.
Dan Shaughnessy has been a beat writer covering the Celtics at the Boston Globe for over 20 years now. He has appeared on programs like Jim Rome is Burning, Globe 10.0 on NESN, and many more. We are truly honored that Dan has agreed to attach his name to The Celtics Late Night Show.
We hope that you will be tuning in Monday night at 9pm to hear what Dan has to say about the Celtics offseason, the three amigos in Miami, and much much more. You can listen to show live on our listen live page. We will also have that chat room open for the entire show. So sit back, crack a cold one, and listen to one of the most intelligent men covering the NBA today.
Get your questions in for NBA’er Maurice Ager
July 6, 2010
This summer we have been busy trying to schedule top notch guest for our listeners of the Celtics Late Night Show. So far we have two guests confirmed for the month of July, both from the Maine Red Claws.
The first is former Michigan State Spartan and New Jersey Nets guard, and current Maine Red Claws guard, Maurice Ager. Ager will be joining us on July 12th, this coming Monday. He will be discussing his future plans, the Red Claws organization, and his newly established production company Ager Music.
As always we want to get Celtics nation involved with this edition of the show. With that being said we are going to open up Brandon and Nick’s Mailbag for your questions. Have you ever wondered what life is like as an NBA player? Have you wondered about the differences between the NBA and NBDL? Well this is your time to ask question like these to a guy who has played at all levels. Send in your questions by clicking the link here.
We hope you enjoy the show on Monday and look forward to having you join us for future shows!

Brandon talks Celtics/Cavs on The Dugout Sports Show
May 12, 2010

On May 6th we had Glenn Moore from the Dugout Sports Show join us to talk Celtics and Cavs. At that time the series was all tied up at one and Glenn was not feeling good about his teams chances. Game three then happened and as I checked out my timeline on Twitter he seemed to feel a lot better. Well, that was until game four happened and he was once again skeptical.
Before Game 5 I returned the favor and was a special guest on the Dugout Sports Show Game 5 pregame show. While on the show I discussed how I wanted to really see KG go at Jamison (which he did), how Paul Pierce needed to step up on the offensive end (which he did), and I predicted a Celtics Game 5 victory (which happened). I guess I brought my A game because even on the Celtics Late Night Show I rarely have this much success in predicting what will happen.
Check out the show by clicking on the link at the top of the page. I come in around the 40 minute mark, but there is also good stuff from John Karalis from Reds Army and San Diego Padres 2nd Baseman Matt Antonelli, who is a huge Celtics fan. Enjoy the show!
